Final Blow

I am not much of a pvper, but I do join fleets once in awhile when I can. With that being said I managed to get my very first final blow the other day and it was once of the weirdest circumstances of bad luck that turned around into some good luck.

A ping went out to form up as there was going to be a huge battle expected. I got shipped into a Merlin fitted for tackling ships and waited for orders to go out from FC. We were told to free burn to an allied system some jumps away and standby on a Titan waiting for a bridge.

Our entire fleet was filled to the maximum amount and another Titan showed up to bridge another friendly fleet that showed up so in total there was something close to 2 full fleets ready to go.

Once the two Titan bridges went up we were told to jump and so when I right clicked the Titan and select the jump command nothing happened and I sat there as I saw both fleets jumping through tbe bridge and I was still waiting for something to happen on my end.

I tried again and it threw up some kind of message saying something was still calibrating. Not too long after that my entire PC froze and crashed.

Upon restarting and getting back into the game my character selection screen stated I was in the intended destination that we were getting bridged too. I ended up logging in to some heavy time dilation and I was stuck in a mess of bubbles.

What instantly caught my eye was an enemy Purifier about 62km away from me. Both fleets were full so I could no longer join them, as I was kicked out when my PC crashed.

I instantly started burning towards the Purifier and going ~3,000km/s it took me awhile to get there and noticing he was already out of bubbles and aligning out I managed to get him tackled with a scram and web. With the ship slowed down the friendlies who who also shooting could hit better and once I was within optimal range of my blasters the Purifier was almost dead and I managed to get a single shot off and scored the killing blow. I tackled the capsule after and it was quickly dispatched.

There was such heavy TiDI going on and I was fleet less so it was hard to try and go after targets being called out so I just picked a random Raven Navy Issue that friendly fleet was fighting and burned through almost 200km of space to tackle an enemy Raven Navy Issue before getting targeted by almost 30 enemies and dying. I did managed to get on the killmail of the RNI I tackled though.

All in all I did my job, got a final blow on one enemy and on the killmail of the other before losing my ship. Definitely worth it.

Here is the link to the kill on the Purifier:

And here is the overall battle report for that brawl:
